Hala is an interdisciplinary artist with a strong background in journalism, which informs her research-creation practice. Through ceramics, video and collage, her work investigates political power, gender relations and history-making. Hala graduated with an SSHRC-funded MFA from OCAD University in 2024 with a thesis that explores Iraq's future through dreaming and Mesopotamian ontology.
